Amur tigers, penguins and gorillas are just some of the over 360 different animal species that whisk zoo visitors away to an exotic world.
At Zurich Zoo, visitors can experience snow leopards in their rocky Himalayan landscape, observe Andean bears climbing in their mountain cloud forest enclosure and watch giant tortoises looking for food in the Masoala Rainforest. This tropical oasis is a little piece of Madagascar covering an area of some 13,000 square yards, with a treetop walkway offering spectacular views of the flying foxes and butterflies that move about freely here.
The Kaeng Krachan Elephant Park allows visitors to observe the resident elephant family with baby Omysha – born in June 2014 – as they play with sand, splash and swim in their outdoor complex, which was designed to resemble their natural Thai environment.
