Rap legend The Game returns in 2025 with "The Documentary 20th Anniversary Tour."
Twenty years after the release of his groundbreaking debut album, The Game will headline a series of shows across the UK and Europe in March and April 2025. As he prepares for the tour, he's also working on his highly anticipated new studio album, The Documentary 3, the third installment in The Documentary series, set for release in 2025.
When The Documentary dropped in 2005, it debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 and went double platinum in the U.S. Iconic tracks like How We Do, Dreams, and Hate It or Love It established The Game as a driving force in the resurgence of the once-dominant West Coast hip-hop scene.
Born Jayceon Terrell Taylor in Compton in 1979, The Game had a troubled childhood and became involved in the drug trade at an early age. A life-changing event shifted his path—after being shot during a home invasion, he decided to leave the streets behind and focus entirely on music. Influenced by N.W.A., The Chronic, Doggystyle, and classics from 2Pac, The Notorious B.I.G., and Jay-Z, he began rapping in 2001. His sharp and provocative freestyles caught the attention of Dr. Dre, who signed him to Aftermath Records in 2003 and produced his debut. The Documentary featured an all-star lineup—including Dr. Dre, 50 Cent, Nate Dogg, Kanye West, and Just Blaze—reflecting The Game’s vision of transcending regional rivalries in hip-hop.
In 2015, The Game released The Documentary 2, an album packed with features from hip-hop heavyweights like Dr. Dre, Ice Cube, Nas, Drake, and Q-Tip, further cementing his legacy. The following year, he expanded his presence beyond music, starring in the A&E docuseries Streets of Compton, which explored his hometown’s history. He also entered the gaming world with his mobile game Block Wars. In October 2016, he dropped his eighth studio album, 1992, which topped the Billboard Independent and R&B/Hip-Hop charts and peaked at No. 4 on the Billboard 200.
In June 2019, The Game released West Side, the lead single from his ninth album, Born 2 Rap, which debuted at No. 19 on the Billboard 200. The album featured collaborations with Dom Kennedy, Ed Sheeran, 21 Savage, and Anderson .Paak. Initially announcing it as his final studio album, The Game surprised fans in 2020 with A.I. with the Braids, a tribute to NBA icon Allen Iverson.
August 2022 saw the release of DRILLMATIC, a 30-track album produced by Hit-Boy, fueled by the success of EAZY, his collaboration with Kanye West. The album featured an impressive lineup, including Ye, Ice T, Big Sean, Lil Wayne, Ty Dolla $ign, 2 Chainz, Rick Ross, A$AP Rocky, Chris Brown, YG, and even former rival Meek Mill.
Now, two decades after his debut, The Game is ready to take fans on a journey through his career with The Documentary 20th Anniversary Tour—a celebration of one of hip-hop’s most influential albums.
