Dope Lemon sounds just as smooth, hazy, and laid-back as the name suggests. Behind the colorful alias is the bearded half of the duo Angus & Julia Stone. While enjoying international success with his sister, the Australian artist also released music under his own name before creating a ‘90s slacker rock version of himself—Dope Lemon. Tracks from the debut album Honey Bones became catchy indie summer hits, racking up over 100 million streams. In 2019, Angus followed up with Smooth Big Cat, then Rose Pink Cadillac in 2022, before releasing his latest album Kimosabè in 2023. Now, the prolific musician sets off on his fifth Dope Lemon adventure with Golden Wolf. While Kimosabè reflected on youth and the decisions that shaped him, this new chapter explores the question of where the journey is heading next.
