Hardly any band gets their fans into the mood to dance as quickly as The Wombats. On stage, Matthew Murphy, Dan Haggis and Tord Øverland-Knudsen live up to their name when they, together with crew members dressed in wombat costumes, perform a wild dance. We can look forward to a Saturday on which you dance all your worries away and bliss takes their place. Since their 2007 debut A Guide to Love, Loss & Desperation, the Liverpool trio has stood for danceable indie rock with unconventional lyrics. Through numerous festival appearances, the Englishmen made a name for themselves early on with their energy. Following their debut, they released four UK Top 5 albums, with Fix Yourself, Not the World (2022) even reaching the very top. Over the years, the classic indie-rock formula has become increasingly infused with disco influences and synthesizers. This additional layer makes the trio’s compositions even more catchy and practically pulls you onto the dance floor.
In February 2025, their sixth album titled Oh! The Ocean will be released, which will finally bring the Liverpool trio back to Zurich after three years. In addition to the new songs, fans can also look forward to hits such as Let’s Dance To Joy Division, Greek Tragedy and Kill The Director.
