Axel Flóvent is deeply rooted in the vast landscapes of his homeland, blending melancholic indie folk, Nordic tones, and subtle influences from indie rock, ambient, and electronic music. His sound is often compared to a gentle mix of Bon Iver, Adrianne Lenker, and Bombay Bicycle Club — yet it remains unmistakably his own.
After years in Reykjavík and periods spent abroad, the Icelandic musician has returned to his hometown of Húsavík in the north. A quiet mission drives his art: to help people feel hope, reconnect with themselves, overcome doubt and discover beauty in places where things feel out of place. This is also reflected in his new EP (release: April 24, 2026).
With Fleeting the Shore, Axel turns even further inward — recording the EP entirely on his own in his house in Húsavík, guided by a sense of simplicity.
Fleeting The Shore traces the quiet currents of change, self-isolation, and loneliness, capturing the feeling of returning to a “new old” place and allowing oneself to be reshaped by it. By developing the songs in the same room in which they were written, he creates an unfiltered intimacy and the music is rooted in the stillness of his home.
