¡Viva México! On Friday, September 11, 2026, Musikcafe XTRA will transform into an oasis of colours, rhythms and pure joie de vivre. We’re celebrating the traditional “Día del Grito” (Mexican Independence Day) with the city’s most famous Mexican fiesta. Experience an unforgettable evening filled with culture, gastronomy and pure Latino energy!
Here’s what awaits you:
Live Music & Entertainment: Dance to the infectious sounds of Natalia Hinojosa (Norteño, Rancheras, Cumbia and more), the well-known Mexican singer from Frauenfeld. Zurich-based Zurindio Banda will also set the dance floor on fire with their irresistible mix of Cumbia, Latin Pop and the biggest Latin American hits and covers. As a special highlight, Mariachi Los Gavilanes will enchant you with traditional Mexican music performed live.
Authentic Mexican Food: Enjoy 100% authentic street-food specialities. The menu features legendary tacos (Barbacoa, Lengua, Adobada and vegetarian options with Rajas con Elote), as well as traditional Pozole, Tamales and Churros. More food stands will be announced!
Mexican Bar: Quench your thirst with original beers such as Modelo, Negra Modelo, Pacífico and the popular “Caguamas”. The bar will also serve premium Tequila- and Mezcal-based drinks including Paloma, Charro Negro and Mezcal Mule, as well as refreshing alcohol-free classics such as Jarritos and Agua de Jamaica.
Mexican Marketplace: Discover handmade crafts, souvenirs and Mexican specialities to take home at our market stalls.
Traditional Games: Try your luck at the iconic bingo-style game “Lotería Mexicana” or test your courage with the electrifying party classic “Toques-Toques”!
