The Franklin Electric is an indie folk project from Montreal, led by singer-songwriter and producer Jon Matte. The project, which evolved from a collective of friends and musicians, now captivates audiences worldwide with its intimate and soulful sound. Jon's lyrics are about self-discovery, relationships and the intricacies of the human experience. With a JUNO nomination for 'Breakthrough Group of the Year' in 2019 and an ADISQ nomination for 'Anglophone Performance of the Year' in 2024, their influence continues to grow. The release of 'Oh Brother' in 2023, a very personal collection of songs in which Jon deals with his relationship with his brother and raises awareness of mental health issues, was followed in 2024 by the EP 'Victory Songs (Vol. 1)', which deals with making difficult decisions and the reality of victory and defeat. The release of the full album “Victory Songs” is planned for May 2025, which will further enrich their narrative sound.
