TJARK brings his debut album live to Zurich

"auch wenn’s uns morgen nicht mehr gibt" ("even if we don't exist tomorrow") – with this enigmatic title, TJARK announces his debut album, marking the end of the first exciting chapter of his young career. The 21-year-old newcomer has already achieved impressive milestones: songs streamed millions of times, his first self-produced EP, and two live tours across Germany, where he brought his emotionally charged music – blending indie pop, folk, and urban sounds – to the stage.

Now, TJARK is ready for the next chapter. One where he frees himself from the expectations of others – and his own. One where he trades the bustle of the big city for the peace and quiet of rural life in his hometown. Instead of immersing himself in Hamburg’s nightlife every evening, he now enjoys the calm and simplicity of the Brandenburg countryside. And in what may seem like a step back, he’s actually taken two steps forward.

“In 2024, we played a ton of festivals and support shows. That’s why I decided to move back home at the beginning of the year – to find more calm and it turned out to be an important decision. Most of the songs were written and produced here, many together with close friends. This environment had a huge influence on the album.”

The result of this intense creative process is "auch wenn’s uns morgen nicht mehr gibt" – a title full of promise. But rather than being a heavy, overthought concept album, it’s one that grew freely and organically. That same openness defines the first single TJARK is releasing ahead of the album: "keinen namen" ("no name") tells the story of a situationship, where everything is still undefined. There are no pet names yet, no expectations, no baggage – and, staying true to the album’s title, no guaranteed tomorrow. Instead, TJARK fully embraces the present moment and sings:

"Wenn mich jemand fragt, sag ich / Ich hab noch keinen Namen für dich / Und glaub mir, ich erwarte nichts / Ich hab noch keinen Plan wie ich / dich frag, was bei uns Phase ist / denn ich hab noch keinen Namen für dich."
(“If someone asks me, I say / I don’t have a name for you yet / And believe me, I expect nothing / I have no plan yet how / to ask you what’s going on with us / because I don’t have a name for you yet.”)

Musically, the production blends gentle folk acoustics with a growing emotional intensity. TJARK explains:
“It’s really important to me that my music works live with my band, and I keep that in mind during the creative process. I want to get back to the basics: making music in the same room with other people, at the same time, together. And that’s exactly how we recorded ‘keinen namen’.”

The result is a raw, moving snapshot with a strong live feeling – one of many moments TJARK has experienced over the past months, soon to be captured and brought together on his debut album "auch wenn’s uns morgen nicht mehr gibt".
